Guests of the Tour
Starting in 2015, Loosen the Bible Belt has been #blessed to welcome a number of special guests with us on the road.
Meghan DePonceau
Professional booze-slinger turned giggle maker Meghan E. DePonceau is a stand up comedian hailing from Buffalo, NY, by way of Denver, CO. She combined her various passions of comedy, wearing cute bows in her hair and making hooch by creating and co-hosting Shanty Town, a traveling house party comedy show. She is also the producer/host of a monthly show unCORKED! at Infinite Monkey Theorem, leaving behind her previous careers as a ruthless bookie and pulling Excalibur from the stone reenactor.
Samantha Ruddy 2016
Samantha joined us on our inaugural run of the deep south. The first one ever. We met each other at the airport and off we went.
Samantha Ruddy tells jokes, writes funny stuff, and weasels her way into your heart with her girl-next-door charm. At the age of 25, she’s headlined Carolines on Broadway and has been featured at national comedy festivals like New York Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest, and Bridgetown Comedy Festival. She's done shows like Whiplash at UCB, Night Train with Wyatt Cenac, and the Stella Classic Nightclub Show. Brooklyn Magazine called her one of Brooklyn’s 50 Funniest People, and BUST says she’s a comic “you should be obsessed with.”Samantha is a skilled joke writer and her comedy is clever, disarming, and sly. Read her writing on Collegehumor, Someecards, and Reductress, check out a show, and follow her on Twitter @Samlymatters. You’ll be glad you did. And she will too!

Dwayne Duke 2016
Dwayne's act is not a leap into debauchery, more a gentle nudge into the profane. He has honed his craft at venues across the nation, but unlike other road warriors he didn't press pause on the rest of his life so there's plenty of new stories and new takes coming from relatable experiences every time you're lucky enough to see him
He has been seen as part of Cleveland Comedy Festival (2013 &15) Florida's Funniest Comedian Finalist (2012& 13), Best in the Midwest Runner Up 2015, Improv (Tampa), and Carnival Cruise Lines.
The Heavenly Chillbillies
And then Gabriel said. We have a Bus! (wrtie the bus story)
“This Buffalo band rips through a healthy catalog of blues, country, rock, and honky tonk; in other words, Americana. The Heavenly Chillbillies play with a wild and loud guitar-fronted recklessness a la Dan Baird, suited for gin mills and buckets of blood. Whether it’s a shuffle, a boogie, or a beer-soaked rave-up, the trio dishes out heaps of blue collar, redneck fun.”
— Frank De Blase, Rochester City Newspaper
The Heavenly Chillbillies formed in Buffalo N.Y in early 2008 and they knew right away that their unique blend of rockabilly and country infused blues was something special, and thus wasted no time getting down to the business of making music. Within a few months the band began playing locally and immediately developed a solid fan base, which resulted in several residencies at local clubs.
